Bad News (Set about 6 months or so after Cupcake and Cotton Candy start dating)[/i][/font]
It was funny how an absolutely awesome day, could be absolutely ruined by bad news. That was how it usually worked though wasn't it? He was sure it was the case any how.
The day had started off perfect. He'd left early to go spend the day with Cotton. It was a little past their six month anniversary, he'd been sick on the day it's self so plans had been made to celebrate once he was better. So here it was about a week later and he and Cotton were out and about. He'd taken her to his favorite spot at the beach, and had walked along with her hand in hand, and enjoyed the picnic lunch he'd packed while they sat on the sand under the umbrella he'd set up.
Sunset had come and he'd settled behind her and just hugged her close, a blanket over his shoulders and just enjoyed the sight, even if she couldn't see it herself. It was still the whole being together thing that mattered most to him.
He'd given her a gift he'd bought for her, a pretty charm bracelet that he'd put some charms on. A cupcake...a stick with cotton candy, and from one of those little Pokemon-centric stores he found other charms and on went an Eevee, a Flaffy, and a Woobat. It wasn't much but it was something really.
After taking her home, and walking her to the door...which led to standing there at the door kissing for a bit, he finally made his way home...only to come across the most horrific thing he'd ever seen.
Smoke filled the air and as he came close he started running in panic. He recognized the place on fire. It was the bakery attached to his and Kelsie's house! He went running and burst into the bakery, finding her in the middle of the inferno trapped under some burning lumber. He pried it off her, burning himself in the process but got her out about the time the sound of sirens filled the air.
"Let me help you sir." Kelsie came around long enough to smile at him, her hand...all sorts of burned...raised and rested against his cheek as she was strapped to a gurney and the two of them loaded into an ambulance.
Once at the hospital they rushed her inside and he followed along with, though he was kept in the waiting room while they worked on her. His own injuries were treated, reluctantly as he didn't want to leave the waiting room and miss any news...though after being assured he'd be given the news where ever he was he allowed the burns to be wrapped, and an overall check up given. He hadn't been in the fire and smoke long, but long enough.
He was back in the waiting room, doing just that when the doctor came out. Cupcake rose to his feet and listened to the words. "I'm sorry, but she didn't make it. Her internal injuries were too severe." Cupcake's eyes filled with tears and his knees started to buckle.
He barely noticed the Chansey's next to him, nurses there at the hospital catch him and helping him to sit. After a bit they brought him to the morgue, and there, he said his goodbyes to his trainer and friend. He hugged her though she couldn't feel it, and wept.
That went on for awhile, though finally he left...and started to walk. It was late at this point...middle of the night really but he didn't care. No instead his feet carried him where they wanted to go, he was on auto pilot.
His hands swung at his sides, bandages a bright white in the dark and before long he found himself stopped outside a place he knew well. It was where Cotton, Tulip and Tillie lived. Still, he didn't knock, for one he couldn't, and two a part of him registered the time and he didn't want to wake them.
Instead Cupcake sank to the ground and sat there with his back against the wall, knees drawn up and he stared off without seeing anything really, save for the fire...Kelsie's body....it brought tears to his eyes and they flowed down his cheeks unchecked.
He would stay this way till one of the girls came out and found him there. Cupcake didn't have it in him to move just then really.

Sharpteeth! AHHHH! (Brenny/Cupcake IM rp)(Set after Cupcake and Cotton's first date, and before Kelsie's death.) Today was one of those days where he had nothing to do. Kelsie was busy, Cotton was busy with some modeling gig for the day and he wasn't having much luck with holding down a job. Something about his tail being a hazard, and his ears kept catching on things. So...today was a wandering day. ...and he was bored. A sigh escaped the fluffy teen as he wandered rather aimlessly.
Brenny was bored. His Daddy was at work and he was pretty sure--but not positive, that Mei was sleeping. What a day to be bored on! Without a companion to keep him busy, Brennen turned to his small collection of dvds. There weren't many he could view without the comfort of an adult near by. He picked one up and went outside. He paused, beaming. There was someone now! Someone he didn't know, but it was someone! Brennen hadn't yet grasped that it was a bad idea to invite strangers in. "Hey! Come watch a movie with me!"
Mei was indeed very much asleep at that point, settled into her spot on the floor with a rather comfortable pillow she slept on, and a blanket. She was cozy and this was some of the best sleep she'd had in quite awhile. Traveling did make decent sleep difficult. So she was utterly unaware of what Brenny was up to. Which was why Cupcake found himself being hollered at, and blinked looking around. "Who me?" how puzzled he sounded. "Do I know you?" he sounded confused, but hey given they neither one were Pokemon anymore, it was possible he knew that they'd known one another...only to have shifted to these forms and not recognize one another.
"No, and I don't know you!" Brenny responded, brightly, "But we can be friends! I'm Brenny! Come watch Land Before Time with me, please? Its too scary to watch all by myself... Daddy's at work and my pet's sleeping, so...." he gave the older boy a hopeful expression. "I have popcorn!"
"I'm Cupcake, it's nice to meet you Brenny." he tilted his head curiously. "Land Before Time? What's that?" he'd never heard of it! He did hesitate a moment though. He knew going into peoples homes uninvited was bad...but then he had been invited and he was bored...so...why not? "Alright I'll come in and watch it. Hopefully your dad won't get mad I'm here though." well at least he was aware this might not be a good idea.
"Cupcake's a strange name," Brenny chirped cheerfully. "Its nice to meet you too! Ooh, its a movie about dinosaurs! There's plant eaters and sharpteeth and they go rawr rawr!" He demonstrated by holding his arms in front of him and showing his teeth. "Its very scary, but daddy says not to worry! He says they can't come out of the television." He paused, shaking his head. "My daddy never gets mad! Maybe you know him! His name is Connie!"
"My trainer named me that when I was still a pokemon, I really loved eating cupcakes." he still did, he just knew better than to gorge on them anymore. "Dinosaurs huh? Those are pretty cool." he chuckled at the kid. "It's true, stuff can't come out of the tv. Alright, I'll watch with you." he came up towards the door, but shook his head thoughtfully. "Can't say I know a Connie, nope."
Brenny took hold of Cupcake's hand and led him inside. "You sit down," he instructed, "I'll make popcorn! Maybe after, Daddy will come home and you can meet him too!" He was sure Connie would want to be Cupcake's friend, too. He went into the kitchen and started a bag of popcorn in the microwave. "Yay! Just two minutes!" He went to the dvd player and inserted the dvd. "We have to wait for it to beep."
Cupcake let the boy lead him inside, chuckling quietly to himself, the kid was adorable honestly. He sat down as instructed and looked over his shoulder at where the kid was going. "Need any help with the popcorn so you don't burn yourself?" well it was best to ask, really!
"I can do it!" Brenny assured Cupcake with a smile. "I know how to make popcorn, but not much else." He went back out into the kitchen when he heard the telltale beeping of the microwave. "Yay! Its done! Do you want it in the bag or a bowl? I like bowls best! Easier to share. "
"A bowl is probably better, less chance of fur getting all buttery like it would from inside a bag." he laughed some and shrugged. It was a fact though. He waited patiently like a good guest while Brenny got everything set up in the kitchen, the movie waiting to be played. "So if this is a cartoon about dinosaurs, why's it scary?" he could see the animation looked friendly enough...what could be so bad?
Brenny poured the popcorn into a bowl, bringing it out to the living room. He sat on the couch next to Cupcake. "It just is," he explained. "Its scary and I don't like scary things... But I like the rest of the movie, so I watch the scary parts too." He took the remote and pressed play. "You'll see!"
"Well if you say so. Never seen this before, so it should be interesting." Cupcake settled on the couch comfortably and waited while the movie was started. He heard noises from another room, but recalled being told of a pet, so didn't give it another thought, especially as the noises died down. Instead, he focused on the movie with interest.
Brenny positioned himself on Cupcake's lap. "It's going to be scary soon," he informed the older boy, "Then it gets sad! And then scary again... So you'll have to keep us both safe! I'll keep you safe, too. If you get scared, you can hug me." He leaned his head against the boy's shoulder to demonstrate. "See? I'm good at cuddling!"
Cupcake blinked down at the boy in his lap, a nod given with a serious look. "Alright Brenny, I'll keep us both safe then." the boy cuddling, it brought a smile to his face and an arm curled around him as he looked at the screen again, indeed jumping in slight surprise at the scary part.
"Told you!" Brenny said, hiding his face in Cupcake's chest. He gave a shiver. "I told you there was a scary part coming up!" He paused, glancing back at the screen. He turned around. "Okay, it's okay for a while. Then it gets sad!"
"You did tell me yes." Cupcake rested his free hand on the back of Brenny's head and hugged him close as he buried his face, letting him look when he moved his head to do so. "A sad part now..okay..." he kept watching and sure enough the sad part wasn't long off....and he sniffled some. "That is sad!"
"He's all alone now," Brenny frowned. He could relate to that. "I don't like this part," he hid his face in the older boy's chest. "It gets better after, though! promise! It does!"
Cupcake's arms curled and he hugged the boy close, resting his chin lightly on the top of his head for a few moments while the sad portion continued on. When it seemed to have passed though he smiled. "Better is a good thing."
"Yay!" Brenny beamed as the story continued. He took a handful of popcorn. "Look, he's making friends! He's not alone anymore!" The celebi boy pointed to the screen. "That's good! I don't like it when people are alone."
"I don't either, it's not good really. I hate being alone myself. Makes me glad I have Kelsie, and my girlfriend." it was a very good thing as far as he was concerned. "I don't think I like that one...whats her name? Sara? She's mean..."
Brenny nodded. "I was alone, too," he said. "My Daddy found me in the woods after my sister left. I've been looking for her ever since. I haven't been able to find her, though..." he sighed, leaning against Cupcake. "You have a girl friend?" he asked. "I have lots of girl friends."
"I'm sorry to hear your sister left. You're a Celebi right? I haven't seen any other Celebi's I hate to say." he hugged the boy with a smile. "You do huh? How many? And yeah my girlfriend is a model. I met her when I was still a Pokemon though." he smiled warmly.
"I am a celebi!" Brenny seemed delighted that the eevee teen had recognized his species. "You haven't? Oh. But maybe you will! Cecily's different than me, though. She's pink! I was green! Like my hair! See? But she's pink." He hesitated at the boy's question, then began to count on his fingers. "Let's see. Mitsuru, Mitja, Lucy, Dea-- Lots of girlfriends! And Mei's a girl. She's my pet-friend, though. Does she count?"
"If I see a pink Celebi, I'll be sure to let you know." he smiled and listened to all the girls being listed off. "Okay so you have friends that are girls...Cotton is the girl I love." he looked thoughtful. There were some awfully familiar names spoken, but figured there was others with the names Lucy and Dea, and not just the ones in Kelsie's family.
"Yay!" Brenny wrapped his arms around Cupcake and gave him a squeeze. "Thank you! I've asked everyone I know to look for her, and I'm sure if we all look together, we'll find her someday!" He wasn't sure whether she'd be particularly happy to see him again, with how they had argued before she had disappeared, but. He found that he didn't especially care about that. He wanted to know how she was doing. If she was safe. "And Fluff, too!" He paused, then beamed up at the boy. "Oooh, you love her! Cotton and Cupcake, yay! I love everyone. You too! I love you!"
"Well hopefully you find her one of these days Brenny." he nodded his head and hugged the boy, only to blink and laugh. "I think we know some of the same people! Does Dea also have an Arceus named Eilam?" what a small world! "If so, I know her! That would be my trainer Kelsie's big sister!" he gave a laugh then. "I do love her yes, a whole lot. You're adorable you know that? I hope when I have kids they're as sweet as you."
"Hm... Eilam? I think so. Lucy was talking about him." Wasn't Eilam that big, silent boy who tended to stay close to Dea at all times? Brenny thought he was a bit intimidating, really. "Yay, you know her, you know her! Maybe I can meet Kelsie and we can all be friends!" He snuggled into the boy's shoulder. "Yay, adorable! I hope so too! If you have kids, bring them here? I want to see them! I want to play with them, and I can be Cotton's friend too!"
"Yep same people how cool!" very cool really. "Maybe so, Kelsie is busy she's getting a bakery set up, and Cotton is really busy with her modeling. I spend plenty of time with her when she's not busy working though." which was good. He looked up in time to hear the roaring of the sharp teeth and blinked in surprise. "AHH!"
"My Daddy's busy a lot too. But maybe I can make him stop being busy long enough to play with us sometime! You could bring Cotton over when she's not busy! We can all play. It's always good to have time off work to play." He looked up when Cupcake did, and grasped at the older boy's shirt in surprise. His blue eyes widened. "Sharptooth!" he cried, hiding his face. "Are they going to get eaten?"
"Some time to play is a good thing. I don't know how much time Cotton and her roommates have for that though really." he worked around Cotton's schedule though. The child hanging onto his shirt was hugged tighter. "I don't know, I've never seen this!" he yelped lightly...and let out a louder cry of surprise as he felt something tapping his shoulder and a sleepy "Who are you...and why are you being so loud?"
"Mei!" Brenny exclaimed, moving so he could face the mienfoo. "Yay, you're awake! This is my new friend Cupcake! I invited him in so we could watch the Land Before Time, and we're at the part where they almost get eaten!"
She gave him a tired smile, and nodded her head. "Alright...well you two keep it down a little, and enjoy your movie." she was overly tired and didn't know why. She felt bad for not spending more time with Brenny, but was glad he had someone to watch a movie with.
"You can watch with us, Mei," Brenny suggested, reaching for the pokemon. "I'll hold you and you can sleep. We'll keep quiet! Really!"
Mei nodded and merely crawled up into the child's lap with a yawn and within moments was back asleep. "She seems awfully tired." Cupcakes voice low so as not to wake the now sleeping Mienfoo. He was rather content with the boy and Pokemon settled on him like they were. This was kind of nice."
"She is. Her trainer died a while ago and I found her in the park. She thought it was a house. I asked Daddy if we could keep her, and he said yes. But I don't think she's rested well since then..." the celebi boy seemed uncharacteristically concerned for the mienfoo in his lap. He gently ran a hand over her, stroking her back.
"Oooooh...that would do it." he nodded his head and hugged the boy gently. "Well hopefully she's catching up on all her lost sleep and won't be so tired after awhile." one would hope anyhow really. For her part, Mei was oblivious to her surroundings, but had relaxed fully in Brenny's lap, looking peaceful at least. Cupcake turned his attention back to the movie again and saw the happy scene of them all being reunited with family. "Awww...happy ending."
"Yay!" Brenny said, glancing at the screen. "Happy ending! I hope Cecily and I have an ending like that, where we're reunited. Do you think things happen like that, for real?" He petted Mei gently, so as to not wake her. "I wonder if Mei will find a star..."
"I think good things like that can happen yes. I don't know if they happen very often, but I'd like to think it can." he smiled softly at the boy. "Hmm...she could. But what would you do then? You call her your pet..she won't be a pet if she finds a star."
"If she finds a star, I'll grow up soon and I can be her Daddy," Brenny explained with a nod. "I'll take really good care of her. I love her."
"That sounds like a good idea. I'm sure she'll be happy knowing she has you looking out for her and loving her." he ruffled Brenny's hair gently. "Thank you for inviting me in for the movie it was really good." he smiled at the Celebi boy. "I should probably go so Mei here can sleep in peace. It was nice meeting you!"

Reuinted (Mitsuru/Cupcake) The night was dark, but the Gunjo district was still booming as those with less legal work came out to play. Mitsuru herself had come into town on a whim, feet carrying her where the wind took them. The shopping, dancing, outdoor movies; every little bit drew in outside tourists like moths to a flame. It was just far enough away from the main part of town to be its own world, yet close enough for major revenue to pour in. Mitsuru kicked her bare feet up into the air, quick to keep her staff at her side as she circled the central fountain. Large bubble lights lined the square, and some where shaped like Pokemon themselves! It was all so magical, so wonderful! ….So very boring.
Cupcake was killing time...he did that a lot these days. Cotton was of course busy working as were Tulip and Tillie...and Kelsie...well she was gone now. So rather than sitting home alone he'd taken to wandering around. He wasn't the same free spirited Eevee he'd been in his youth...or even just a few scant months ago. He was withdrawn to a point, ears almost drooping, tail once his fluffy pride...seemed to have lost some of its fluff and luster due to his depression. It wasn't like he wasn't trying to bring himself out of it....he was! It was difficult was all. Tonight, he found himself...somewhere. He rarely paid attention. He knew how to get back to where he needed, that was all that mattered.
Mitsuru hopped onto the lip of the fountain, despite the protests of some passerby’s, and took a better look at the area. With one hand grasping the edge of the water dispenser, the other holding onto her staff, she was able to see all around the square…And what she saw had her bounding off the fountain, sending a spray of water all around her.
Big, brown ears – they had to belong to him! They just HAD to! Mitsuru weaved through the crowd, her staff tapping both people and stones before she slid to a stop infront of the Eevee teen. He was taller than she remembered, more handsome, and ten times cleaner. “Cupcake!”
Cupcake was lost in thought, so didn't hear the commotion being kicked up around the fountain, the complaints being issued as people were whacked by a staff. It was the sudden appearance of someone in front of him that had him stopping in his tracks and blinking looking up from his feet in surprise studying the very pretty teen girl in front of him. "M...Mitsuru? Is that you?" his ears perked a little, amazed to see his childhood friend. She looked so pretty...and clean!
Mitsuru’s wary smile broadened into a full blown grin as she straightened up, holding her staff upright while the base rested against the ground. “I’m so glad that you remember me! I remember you; and the mud slide.” She smiled, and held out her hand. “Come on, let’s go grab a bite to eat so we can catch up.” He didn’t look so good; oh, he was handsome, very much so, but he looked so out of it…she had to know why so she could fix him up like new!
"How could I forget you and that mud slide? That was so much fun...and took me absolutely forever to wash all that mud from my tail." he gave a soft almost broken laugh. It would seem the teen didn't do much laughing these days. He looked to her hand and took it after a moment with a nod. "Alright that sounds good." not that he would eat much. He looked like he'd lost a bit of weight too, clothes a little baggier than they should have been. It could have been thought he was recuperating from a serious illness honestly. "Anywhere you want to eat, my treat." so long as one of them ate....right?
She laughed and shook her head. “I can only imagine! Your tail…oh goodness, did you have to cut some of the mud out?” Mitsuru had turned back to look at said tail, and was shocked to find it’s glow visibly diminished. That had her looking at him much closer. He didn’t look good; not at all. “Cupcake are you…” She shook her head and pulled him into a quieter café, one with an outdoor patio that looked out over a canal. They were seated at a table, and given menus. “So…what’s new?”
"No, but I had to use the hose for quite awhile till all the mud was out...and then I think another pound of it came out in the shower when I got soap into it. Lets not get started about my ears...those took awhile too." he gave another low chuckle, wondering what she'd been about to say. Once settled at the table he looked out over the canal, enjoying the peaceful location, the sound of the water whooshing softly against the stone before he looked at the menu a few moments. "Well...lets see...been awhile since we've seen one another...where to start." he looked thoughtful. "Ah, I have a girlfriend, her name is Cotton Candy...we've been together for...oh seven months or so I think?" he tried to recall...had he missed an anniversary and not realized...? No...no not yet a year. Good.
"Oooh, congragulations!" Mitsuru clapped her hands and leaned forward with a smile. "What's she like? I'm sure she's lovely! You'll have to introduce me sometime." She leaned back to look at her menu, frowning over the lack of vegetarian options. Finally, when the waiter came around, she opted for a chicken pasta dish...minus the chicken, and when the waiter left.... "So...what's really been going on? You look rough."
Cupcake had ordered...something. He wasn't really sure what it was. Something with seafood in it he thought. Maybe. Could have been. He'd mostly just pointed to something at random really. "Cotton's wonderful, I met her when I was still a pokemon. She's a model along with Tillie and Tulip her friends." there was a sigh from him though as she got to the heart of the matter. "A month...month and a half back something like that...the house my trainer and I had been living in caught fire while I was out on a date with Cotton....and when I came back..." he trailed off and swallowed hard. "They were pulling her out...she was in bad shape...I got to ride with her...but....Kelsie didn't make it..."
"A model, huh?" Well, well, well! She hadn't met any models before, and had barely seen them, since she spent most of her time in the woods, but she knew enough to figure out they were gorgeous people. She was also probably very nice; after all, Cupcake was dating her. Then the hard truth came out. Mitsuru's smile faded into a concerned frown. "I'm...very sorry to hear about that, Cupcake. Loss like that is hard, but at least her last moments were spent with you."
"I was the first one there...I ran in and pulled burning debris off her. Something in her bakery which was attached to our house caught fire..." he held up his slightly scarred hands, they weren't bad, but not perfect. "I'm glad I got her out...that she didn't die in there...but her internal injuries were too bad..." he sighed again deeply. "I've been living with Cotton and her friends ever since...no where else to go and Tulip was worried about me being on my own." it was best he'd stayed, with his hands injured doing much for himself was difficult. Their food came then, and he halfheartedly poked at it but didn't take a bite. That had to explain how thin he was. "What about you? What's new with you?"
"Oh my goodness, you ran IN there? You could have been killed!" Mitsuru squawked, one hand pressed up close to her face. That is, until he showed his hands, at which she reached out to take in her own to inspect. "Oh, Cupcake...I...I can't say that I would have done the same, but it was a very brave thing you did. I'm sure she was very proud of you." Giving his hands a light squeeze, she moved back into her seat to take a mouthful of her food. She ate a good full two forkfuls before speaking again, motioning to his own food to get him eating. Mitsuru would force it down if she had to! "I just got back from a pilgrimage into the mountains to find the Gracidia flowers. I found them, but I was hoping to find others of my kind as well..." She sighed. "They were supposed to be there, but...well, sometimes things just don't work out."
"I didn't even hesitate...I could hear her calling for help...barely..but I heard her. I couldn't leave her." he let her inspect his hands and gave a light smile. "They're okay now. Mostly all healed up. I was told before long the burns should fade more. I'm lucky it wasn't worse. Not even a singed tail or ears to show for it." amazingly. He sighed and stabbed at a forkful of his food and took a bite of it, chewing as he listened to her. "I'm sorry you didn't find any others. Could they have gone to a different mountain?"
"Just make sure you take care of them." Mitsuru pointed her fork at him, and gobbled up another mouthful. The way she ate was obvious enough that she didn't have a steady diet; in fact, this trip was an extreme treat for the young Shaymin. Most nights consisted of berries and roots, at best! "You know, I didn't think to look...I have a friend I'm trying to find, since I told him I would come back. I think...well, if they were still here, they would have been there, you know?"
"I am. I have some cream stuff I'm s'posed to use a few times a day to keep them moist and all." he had it in his pocket in fact, he did remember to keep that stuff applied amazingly. He watched her eat as he took a few more bites of his food eating slowly. As little as he ate these days it wouldn't do to pig out. "No luck in finding your friend either I take it?"
"Good! ....Does it make your hands sticky? " Grown or not, she was still the same curious beast she'd always been. Mitsuru downed her glass of water in one go and sat the galss on the edge of the table, awaiting the waiter to refill it. "No, unfortunately. Though, I haven't been looking like I should have. I kind of just got back." She smiled.
"Not sticky so much as sort of slippery and greasy feeling...but I guess that's a good thing. For awhile I had to put that stuff on then cover my hands to help keep all that moisture in. Now, it's just sort of like applying hand lotion I guess." he saw her done with her water and slid his own over, he hadn't taken a drink of it yet. "Really? What a coincidence running into one another tonight. I'm really glad though, I've been hoping to run into you again you were so nice."
She didn't touch his water; just gave him a point with her finger, and slid the glass back at him. He needed it too! "Ahh, is that how that works? I've never had a burn before, so....If your hands now are anything to judge by, I'm sure you needed all the moisture you could get." Mitsuru finished off the last of her pasta and sat back to nibble on bread instead. "Really? Wow, thanks! You were pretty cool, too. I've never seen someone with big ears like yours before. Not that they're a bad big! Just big."
He took the water back and took a sip of it, a rueful smile given. Of course with the three girls busy working he neglected himself something awful, but he did put on a good attempt at eating and such when they were all around. "I don't recommend burns, they hurt." a lot. He had eaten about half his food, and decided maybe the rest could go back with him at this point for a later snack. He'd eaten more in one sitting than he had in the last two days he realized. His ears twitched and he grinned some. "I don't think I've seen anyone with ears as big as mine either but I like my ears."
"What...what kind of Pokemon are you? I've been meaning to ask for a while, well, since we first met, but I never got around to it. I don't recognize your ears or your tail." Mitsuru smiled at the waiter when he came by with a pitcher to refill her glass, down the cup and whistled at him to return. This time her smile was wider, more innocent, and she sipped it much slower this time around.
"Me? Oh...I'm an Eevee! I never changed into anything else cause of my collar." which he still wore to this day. Though it was getting rather worn. He was afraid it would break soon. It was something he'd need to replace at some point though he'd keep it. It was all he had left from Kelsie. He chuckled softly at the waiter eying Mistu a moment as she sipped the third glassful of water. "I think he expects you to chug it as soon as he walks away again..."
"Oh, cause of the stone on it? What do Eevee's evolve into?" She'd never met an Eevee before; what did he look like, when he wasn't human-i-fied? Were they big, little, small, or large? Breaking out of her moment, Mitsuru looked at the waiter and took a good sip, before tipping the glass to him. "I think that means we should get out of here soon. He'll be expecting a big tip now."
"Yeah this is an everstone...means I won't ever change...and well we evolve into a lot actually..." he smiled looking a little more animated. He asked for a box and got his left overs into it, and took the bill that had been brought to him and paid for dinner, leaving a decent tip. "Lets see...if a Thunderstone is used...a Jolteon results...then there's Firestones and Flareons, waterstones and Vaporeons....Espeon's occur if we're super happy in the day time...and Umbreons if we're super happy at night. Then there's leafeons...something about a green stone there, I'm sort of in the dark on them...and glaceons and an ice rock...got me." a shrug given. "I've heard there might be another sort of Eeevee evolution out there...an Syl..something. I think it's just a rumor though." he nodded slowly.
Mitsuru nearly choked on her own spit. "You can evolve into ALL THAT? Isn't that a lot of pressure? Maybe not for you, because you've got that Everstone, but....wow." She wouldn't be able to decide! What was that, seven? eight? She'd lost count. The young Shaymin was suddenly very glad that the only thing she had to worry about was her alternative form. "You can change if you're happy? At different times of the DAY?" She curled her lip, unbelieving even as they walked out of the cafe and back out onto the street. "No offense, but I'm really glad I'm not one of you."
He reached up and lightly patted her on the back. "Careful now. And yeah...I've seen a few of the others around. I read up on Eevee's awhile back and was amazed by all that. I'd had no clue. I'm glad I'm just me. A lot of people like us when we're small....we're...well not that big." he held his hands apart a distance for length...and again for height. "We're sorta small when Pokemon. Umbreon's are kind of cool looking though...all black with gold bands. If I had to evolve I might want to be one of those, but...well she wanted me an Eevee...and I plan to stay this way. So, collar."
"That's still a lot bigger than I was. I was just this big." She copies his actions with hand dimensions, though visibly smaller. "Umbreons, huh? They sound nice...but not like Cupcake. Black and gold just isn't you. I think Kelsie was right; you're better off how you are right now." She honestly couldn't imagine him looking any different; what if his personality changed along with his looks? Nope, nope, that just wouldn't do.
"Wow you were tiny! Funny to see how you look and think of how small you were before." he smiled warmly at her. "You look much nicer all cleaned up and not muddy." he laughed softly. "This is the most like me I've felt in a long time. I've been avoiding talking about her...and it's made it hard on me...and the others I know..." and he sighed realizing how much Cotton and Tulip at least had to have been worrying about him. He wasn't sure about Tillie still.
Mitsuru laughed, and gave him a little clap on the arm. "Thanks! I actually started taking human showers, and they are AMAZING." All of that warm water...why hadn't she been doing that all along?! It was so much better than river water! Never really taking her hand off his arm, she stepped in a little closer, to get a better look at his face. "Kelsie wouldn't want to see you withdrawn, Cupcake. I know you enough to know that isn't you. She would want to see you happy, doing what you love and being with those who love you instead. It's alright to feel sad and remember her; just not so much that you lose yourself."
"Aren't they? I like showers a lot. Though I admit my tail takes a lot of care." with all that fur no wonder. Though it could do with him eating better, resting more...it looked thin compared to how it should. He stopped walking as she got closer, and couldn't help a soft smile...though tears filled his eyes...and he simply hugged Mitsu. "I miss her...so much. Maybe...if I'd been home and not out with Cotton she'd have been okay...wouldn't have been working in the bakery...or maybe I could have gotten her out sooner before she got so hurt.." why yes, survivors guilt as it were.
"I know about this conditioner stuff that I put on my hair...It's great. Makes it smooth, and keeps it slick." She'd have to show him it later; right now she was too busy talking, much like she usually was. When he hugged her...well...she was already mid-hug by the time his arms finished wrapping around her. "Maybe, but then maybe you would have gotten caught up in it, too. Things work out in odds ways, but I know she wouldn't have been happy if you'd gone out with her." At least, she assumed that was what Kelsie would have wanted. "You can't change the past; only the future."
"I've tried that...took a lot to work through my tail. Way too much." so he skipped that usually. Didn't want to constantly use it all. Though once wet his tail did compact. A lot. Her hug felt good. Oh sure Cotton and Tulip gave hugs, but still the hug was nice, even as he cried a little on her shoulder. He'd been trying to be strong for so long now...that he needed this release. After a few minutes he pulled away drying his eyes quietly. "Yeah...maybe you're right...and then Cotton would be sad...and I wouldn't want that." not one bit.
She held him close, and rubbed her hand up his back, patting and applying pressure when she felt his tears hit her shoulder. Mitsuru cooed, murmuring words of enrouagement as onlookers and passerbys either scuttled, or stopped for a second before she had to wave them on. As dark as it was people were still as nosey as ever. "See?" She smiled at him, even if it was a somber reflection of the one she'd worn not even an hour ago. "You're a boyfriend now; boyfriends don't make their girlfriends sad, if they can help it."
He took a deep breath and let it out slowly sniffling some. It had felt good to cry. He hadn't yet he realized. Though look at him smile brightly. "I want to be more than that, but I'm being patient and not rushing. Maybe closer to a year or so I'll propose." he was that serious about her.

Sleigh Ride Surprise(Cupcake proposes to Cotton Candy!) Cupcake:Cupcake had been planning for awhile…it was a very important plan at that. He’d taken what he’d learned in his time as Kelsie’s pokemon, and applied it to his own business opening up a bakery that made food that while edible by humans, was actually geared towards pokemon, and business was booming! He’d done a small tv ad for it, and his shop had been swamped by young women both human and changed like himself oohing and aahing…though mostly over him. ‘You should be a model!’ was one he heard a lot and it made him laugh and shake his head with a simple ‘I leave the modeling to my girlfriend, but thanks.’ His life had gotten better, and he was happier and of course it was all thanks to Cotton….so much so that this was why his planning had started….and he asked her out on a date as was customary despite them living together. Date nights hadn’t ended just because of that. He’d told Tulip to help her dress warm, because they were going on a sleigh ride through the snow, and he didn’t want her to be cold. That, was step one of his plan. Cotton:Though she enjoyed the visits from Tulip, Cotton Candy thought she was being oddly pushy about what to wear for her date night tonight. She’d moved out quite a while ago, but she still saw her old roommates at work, and Tulip usually came over at least once a week. They’d finished their photoshoot for the day and Tulip had walked her home, while Cotton was going on about how Cupcake had been super secretive about tonight’s plans. Normally she knew the routine, dinner, then some activity, whether it be a movie, a concert, or even dancing. But not tonight, she was completely in the dark, and more so than normal. Tulip, meanwhile, wore a knowing smile. “No, no, no, don’t wear that, it’ll be too cold tonight!” Tulip mother henned as Cotton tried to find things to wear for the night. “Oh, but Tulip, I really liked that one!” Cotton half pouted as Tulip grabbed a shirt out of her hand and threw it on the bed. “Oh, and why does it matter? You act like you know what we’re doing…” Tulip stopped in her tracks, holding a red and white smock that matched the long, winter-weather dress Cotton currently had on. “What makes you say that?” she gave an uneasy chuckle. “I’m simply not wanting you to get sick.” “Oh, okay,” Cotton smiled and shrugged, draping the smock over her shoulders, completely oblivious to what Tulip knew. Tulip looked at the clock, almost time for her to make her exit, Cupcake would be home momentarily from work. “Alright, sweetie, call me later and let me know how the date went. Chao, love!” Tulip gave Cotton a tighter-than-usual hug and excused herself from the home that the Flaffbat and Eevee shared. “Oh, okay… bye!” Cotton waved goodbye until she could hear the heavy “thud” of the front door and the Venusaur leaving. Cupcake:Cupcake came up the walk to the house he and Cotton lived in as Tulip was making her exit, and he winked at her with a grin as she took off, a quiet ‘thanks!’ given as he hugged her before stepping inside. “I’m home sweetie!” he hung his coat up on the coat rack and made his way up the steps, taking in Cotton as he entered their room a warm smile on his face. “You look beautiful as always tonight. Let me clean up from work real quick and change and we’ll be on our way.” He paused by her however and rested his hand on her hip, kissing her softly, before he broke away to go wash up. He knew he smelled of sugar and baked goods. One quick shower later and he was dressed in some decent jeans, a tshirt, and his favorite long sleeved shirt layered over top. All he needed was down in his coat, so he was good here, and instead grabbed both of their scarves, as well as her knit hat, and went to locate her. “Here you go, it’s pretty chilly out right now, I have your scarf and hat so you stay warm. I have mine too for that matter.” Carefully he tucked some of her hair into the hat then wrapped the scarf around her, stealing another kiss before donning his own hat and scarf. He had gloves for both of them tucked into his jean pocket, in case. There was a knock on the door then, and he grinned. “Come m’lady, our chariot awaits.” He wasn’t exaggerating much either. In front of their house was a carriage decked out for Christmas, and two large horses standing there waiting patiently, the sound of bells on the sleigh filling the air. “Hope you’re not against a carriage ride.” Cotton:Tulip hugged Cupcake tightly, a happy tear sliding down her cheek. “Go get her, tiger!” She chuckled softly, wiping under her eyes to prevent more tears from flowing and messing up her makeup. She was so happy for the couple, it was hard to express and she wore the smile all the way home. Cotton had just sat on the bed she and Cupcake share when he’d entered, his usual call ringing out, causing her to stand abruptly and her head wings to perk. A broad grin met the Eevee boy as he entered the room. “Oh, welcome home,” she cooed, her cheeks darkening as he complimented her. It never failed; she always blushed when he called her beautiful. The smell of the bakery honestly didn’t bother Cotton in the slightest. It wasn’t like everyone got to say their significant other smelled so sweet. Cotton chuckled, reminded of their private pet names for each other as Cupcake was washing up. Once cleaned and ready to go, Cotton followed her man down the stairs and playfully huffed as he put her cap and scarf on her. “Oh, I swear, between you and Tulip today, you’d think I couldn’t take care of myself!” It was all said with a loving tone. Cotton really couldn’t ask for two better, more loving friends. She definitely considered them both family, even if there were no blood relation or anything. “Oh my gosh!” Cotton gasped as he opened the door and she could make out the silhouette of the carriage with her echolocation. “Oh, Cupcake! This is so romantic! I don’t mind the carriage ride at all!” This time she stole a kiss form him, making her way to the carriage. She looked like she belonged in the little sleigh, her Christmassy dress and shawl with the decorate ride. Her hands touched to side gently, giving her a sense of how the thing was decorated better than her “eyes” could. “Oh, this is so lovely!” No doubt in her mind that she’d be saying that more and more this night. Cupcake:Cupcake couldn't help the grin at Tulip's words and snickered. "Yes Ma'am!" he was glad he and Cotton had such a good friend in Tulip. Cotton's huff was adorable and it made him chuckle as he grabbed his coat and slid it onto his shoulders, double checking his pocket and locking up behind them as he followed her down the walk, and carefully pulled the warm blanket up over their laps. "And now you know why Tulip was here and helping you out. I let her know I wanted to surprise you with a sleigh ride, and that I wanted to make sure you didn't get too cold while we were out here." Once on the seat fully one arm wrapped around her shoulder and pulled her close, pressing another kiss to her lips. "I'm glad you like this, I wasn't sure if you would or not. I have our gloves too if your hands start to get chilled." he wasn't leaving anything to chance! Cotton:“Oh, I should’ve known you two were in cahoots!” she giggled. “Well, you got me!” She really had no idea what tonight actually entailed. Cotton nuzzled into Cupcake as he pulled the blanket over them and put his arm around her. He really outdid himself this time! She always had a great time on their date nights, but something told her tonight was going to blow the others out of the water. Oh! If she only knew! As the driver cracked his whip and got the horses going, the carriage jostled a little, making its way on the predestined path. Cotton didn’t mind the ride, the carriage was a smooth as they came and it was something new to experience, not like she could see the scenery, really. It was always best to do something that appealed more to her other senses, that’s why she didn’t care much for movies. She usually got lost as to what was happening. “Oh, Cupcake, this is so nice!” Cupcake:“Of course we were. I knew she tends to walk you home so I talked to her days ago about tonight so she could make sure you were good to go.” He brushed a finger over her cheek before leaning in and kissing her again softly, feeling the icy wind whipping around them. There was a change of sound as the horses clopped over a bridge and continued on its way. He’d mapped it all out with the driver, having explained his purpose for the night and paying accordingly. The sleigh came to a slow, and the driver came around then and handed them each a cup of hot chocolate. “Here, a nice warm drink, before we continue on.” He drank carefully at the hot liquid so he wouldn’t be scalded, and before long his drink was done. One hand had at this point slipped into his pocket and as quietly as possible pulled out something he’d put in there. “Oh, your hands are looking a bit pink. Are they cold? Let me warm them a little…” Carefully he took her hands in his, rubbing first at her right one, making sure they weren’t cold, brushing a kiss over her knuckles as he made sure each finger got a rubbing to warm them, then he slipped her glove onto that one, before he was rubbing and blowing hot air onto her left. As he rubbed her fingers, he carefully slipped a little something onto her finger there, and placed a kiss onto the diamond ring there, waiting for her to realize the addition. Especially as that glove was not put on. Cotton:She really was enjoying the ride, even if it was a little cold out. At least her fluffy fur and hair helped keep her warm, not to mention the clothing both Tulip and Cupcake had instructed she wear. Cotton chuckled at the thought and how much they fussed over her well-being. She was blind, but not helpless. She had managed without them for quite a while before she’d met them. Still, it was such a nice feeling knowing they cared for her so much. When the driver stopped, she lifted her head from its resting place on Cupcake’s shoulder. “Oh, yay!” she squeaked at the offer of hot cocoa. She loved hot cocoa; and it even had marshmallows in it, just the way she liked it! “Thank you!” she eagerly spoke, taking hold of the warm cup. It was a welcome feeling on her chilled fingers. She didn’t want to say anything though; it had only been a minor discomfort. She sipped her chocolate, so as not to burn the roof of her mouth or tongue. Still, it seemed to cool much faster than if she’d been sitting at home. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted… at least could enjoy it and drink it faster at the same time. Cupcake knew that the cold was getting bitter as the night drew on, and she silently thanked him as he warmed up her hands. She welcomed the warming breath and the comfort of the soft glove. When he left her left hand, however, she was a bit puzzled. And why did her ring finger feel like there was something on it? A confused expression stole over her face and she took off the glove that’d been so lovingly placed on her hand not a moment before. With her right hand she carefully felt the cool metal and gem that now encircled her finger. A look of surprise struck her. “Oh…” she began quietly. “Oh… Oh, C-Cupcake? Is… is this what I think it is?!” Her voice cracked, not sure if she should cry out of happiness or shout her excitement to the whole world. Cupcake:Oh good, she’d noticed he’d deliberately left her left hand ungloved. He watched her face intently, as the realization washed over her, and he couldn’t help but feel relieved that she was apparently happy by the addition of that ring to her finger! Taking her hands in his own he held them both close, pressing soft kisses to her fingertips. “Cotton, I’ve not been able to think of anyone but you since that day I met you in the café. I wanted to grow up as quickly as I could, so I could hopefully have a chance at dating you…and now…I don’t want to spend my life without you. Will you marry me sweetheart?” his own voice cracked softly as the sound of the sleighbells filled the air, the horses tossing their heads about as he waited for her answer. He held his breath, waiting for confirmation in some way as he kept her hands held and warm within his own. He couldn’t stop staring at her, thinking yet again just how utterly beautiful she was, and just how lucky he was to be a part of her life. She’d saved him, after he lost his trainer, kept his soul from falling apart. He didn’t know what he’d do if she said no. Cotton:Saying no was the furthest thing in Cotton’s mind. As he held her hands in his, and as he spoke all her will power was being used to keep herself from crying. Still, her eyes began to water and her lip began to tremble as he continued. By the end, she was speechless. She knew if she even tried to utter a single syllable, the tears that contented themselves on the edges of her lashes would begin tumbling down her cheeks. The sleigh bells and the sound of the nervousness in his voice, however, were the last push she needed. Tears began flowing and she pulled her hands from his to cover her mouth. She nodded vigorously, still unable to speak for once in her life and threw herself on to him. Her arms wrapped around him tightly as she sobbed, so extremely happy. She nuzzled her face deeply into his neck managed and soft, squeaky, “Yes!” Cupcake:He could see the tears forming in her eyes, and he would have reached up to brush a thumb under them to catch the yet to fall droplets but he instead waited, not wanting to break the moment as he continued to wait, even if she couldn’t see him looking away from her, or anything else. This was important after all! Her reaction thawed him and his arms wrapped around her tightly and pulled her close, a pleased laugh coming from him as he let out a whoop of delight and a “SHE SAID YES!!” the driver hearing that began to slowly move the sleigh again, reversing the path they’d taken, and before long they were pulling up in front of the house they’d left a mere hour ago. “Lets go inside and warm up a little, and then you’d better call Tulip and tell her your answer to me. She’s been as excited about this as I have been since I told her I was planning to propose to you.” He paid and tipped the driver handsomely, before he kissed his girlfriend…no fiance deeply as he lifted her into his arms, and starting for their house, grinning like an idiot. He couldn’t remember ever being happier than he was now! Cotton:The Flaffbat managed a choked laugh as Cupcake shouted his excitement, repeating her answer with all the enthusiasm he could muster. The whole night had been so lovely; it was like it was right out of a movie. The ride home even seemed to be a blur as her mind raced and replayed what had happened not moments before. If Cotton had a spiteful grain in her body, she’d probably be mad at her best friend for keeping something so big, like this a secret. But all she could think about was how happy she was and that her and Cupcake were going to get married and that they’d have to start making wedding plans. It was all so surreal. The call to Tulip didn’t feel anymore real, there was so much squealing and cheering and happy crying. It also lasted over an hour, but seemed like only a few minutes. It wasn’t until she could hear Tillie complaining about the noise in the background that the whole thing seemed to click. She hung up, promising to come over to the house sometime the next day to show off the ring. Sitting on the bed, Cotton fiddled with the ring on her finger, feeling the delicate cuts. She could tell it was meant to look like a flower, and although she couldn’t see it, she could feel how it looked well enough. This had to be the happiest day of her life, by far. Cupcake:He had let her gush to Tulip while he put up their extras from the sleigh ride, and closed the house up for the night while he went about getting the small cake he’d brought home cut up and served, bringing her a slice on a plate and a fork, and bending to kiss her softly. “Some dessert to celebrate our engagement, then some cuddling to warm us up, and then if you want I’ll make us some dinner.” He settled on the bed nest to her and leaned in to kiss her neck softly. “I love you so much Cotton.” He wished Kelsie were alive to see this moment, but she had plenty of family he could inform. Eventually. He didn’t see them much anymore, by choice. It was just easier on himself that way. For now, he opted to focus on the gorgeous creature next to him, and nothing more. Cotton:“Oh, dessert before dinner? You spoil me!” She kissed him back on the cheek as she accepted the cake and he sat next to her. “I love you so much too, Cupcake.” Her voice cracked a bit and she took a bite cake to keep herself from crying a third time. She nosed him on the cheek affectionately. “You’re the best thing in my life… but don’t tell Tulip, she’d be so mad!” She chuckled. “I’m so glad we found each other.” She finished her cake and wrapped an arm around his waist as she waited for him to finish as well. “Oh, this night as been so perfect, and cuddling and dinner sounds to lovely!” Cupcake:“There’s still plenty we can have after dinner if you want, but I thought a little snack wouldn’t be so bad.” He brushed his hand through her hair laughing softly at her asking him not to tell that to Tulip. “My lips are sealed, I won’t tell her you said that.” Once his plate was done, he set them both on the side table to wash up later, and pulled her close kissing her again softly. “Now, some cuddling to warm up, and then dinner.” He licked a bit of frosting from her lips with a smile as he settled back on the bed holding her close. Yep, his life was pretty perfect now.

Impending Fatherhood ((Baby solo))
It was an amazing sort of feeling, knowing that he was going to be a father! After the death of Kelsie, he had grown withdrawn and depressed, but thanks to Cotton he'd gotten his head back on straight and moved on with life. The bakery was something of a tribute to his deceased trainer since it's what she'd always planned to do, and really he did love his sweets. So it was a perfect job for him, even if more than once Cotton's fellow models tried to convince him to pose with them, and such. Not the sort of life he himself wanted!
But now, now he had a new drive and purpose in life. He was going to be a father! He was amazed he was going to get this chance so soon after being married! Their wedding night was the night that Cotton conceived from everything he had learned and he was still no less amazed. It was as if their love was meant to be or something.
Needless to say he felt like he was on cloud nine over the whole event. In the shop he made a few adjustments to things he made and started to feature pink and blue cupcakes, and "mystery" cupcakes. Where they were all one color and nothing to identify what they were. Sometimes they had a filling, sometimes not. But they were always tasty.
At home, he'd gotten started on baby proofing parts of their house with corner guards and outlet covers. Smaller things. The extra room he painted in primary colors that would work for any gender baby and had numbers and the alphabet adorning the walls. This led to him more often than not having multiple colors in his hair and tail when he went into work but he was happier than ever and no one could fault him his enthusiasm honestly.
And Cotton...he spoiled his wife more than ever, her morning sickness doing nothing to dampen his spirits. He washed sheets and clothes without complaint when she got sick on them, cleaned up any messes that were made in her mad dash for toilets or sinks or trashcans. Cupcake had a nice, settled look to him.
There was just one thing he needed to do and that was contact Kelsie's family and let them know. He hadn't spent a lot of time around them since her death, and had almost actively avoided them in fact. It was just easier on him but they deserved to know he was happy, and married and going to have a kid. Maybe he'd wait to contact them though until after the baby was born...or once they knew what they were having. That seemed the better course of action.
He was also prepping the house for the baby shower that Tulip had in the works for them. Cotton as far as he was concerned seemed to be absolutely glowing thanks to the life growing within her and it amazed him to know she could become even more beautiful than she already was. Cupcake was definitely a content Eevee, and couldn't ask for anything to make life any better than it was. He had people ask him if he wanted a son or a daughter and he was truthful when he said he didn't care what they had so long as their child was healthy, because really that was all that mattered.
